Covid 19 and the Vail Valley……

So many of my clients are asking me about the real estate market and how it may be impacted in the future and right now… and here’s what I say. The market is day by day, and hour by hour. Some of my buyers and sellers are telling me they want to hold for now, and I’m supporting them and keeping them in the loop. Some of my other clients need to buy or sell right now because of prior planning. Or because of what’s happening in the community right now, so I’m helping them with my protocols in place for safety, virtual showings, and smart marketing. Things are constantly changing when it comes to Corona Virus in the Vail Valley and Cordillera area but I am staying updated.

I am adjusting everything I am doing to put you first and serve you the best I can with what your needs are, and whatever the future holds I am here for you. If there is anything I can do to help you please reach out to me!

What does this mean for the summer?

I’ve spoken with many clients who live in second homes in other parts of the country and they have expressed that they would like to be here in the summer. They feel the Vail Valley and Cordillera area have the best opportunity for social distancing and enjoying the outdoors. I am currently enjoying nature while social distancing by taking lots of walks!

My hope is that Corona Virus in the Vail Valley and Cordillera area will not last into the whole summer. Fingers crossed that by that time people will be able to travel freely and easily so that everyone can enjoy their second homes! The Club at Cordillera has announced that they still intend to open the Valley Course on April 17th for the summer season, unless prohibited by local or federal laws. They are of course following all the CDC guidelines and using best and safest practices when it comes to sanitizing, cleaning and social distancing.

How is this affecting the real estate business?

There is currently a “shelter in place” order until the end of April and we will see what happens after that. You can read the full order from Colorado here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GjiohfHn3BP10UxifTQLfgfdw0Twrut_/view

Although this has obviously affected our normal procedures when it comes to real estate we have adapted! We are well positioned as we can still do virtual tours, 3D walkthroughs and all these kinds of things. A recent listing has been getting huge virtual showings with the public and within the realtor community so I am excited to see how this continues to develop!

Corona Virus in Vail Valley & Cordillera Local Community Efforts

The local community is also coming together to try and get through this as smoothly as possible. The Eagle County Board of Commissioners has allocated $1.15 million for COVID-19 response and recovery. The commissioners have earmarked $250,000 to fund community partners such as local chapters of the Salvation Army, Lift Up and the Eagle Valley Community Foundation. This funding will help the small local business we all love and enjoy survive through this difficult time! Rental assistance is also being provided to locals who have lost employment. You can find more information on that here: https://www.vaildaily.com/news/eagle-county-allocates-1-15-million-for-covid-19-response/
