Selling your home can be stressful in normal times but can add even more stress dealing with COVID-19. Especially if your home really isn’t selling. You may start to wonder if right now is even the right time to sell your home. I want to continue to provide up to date and current information to my clients. There are several reasons why your home may not be selling, but the current pandemic is certainly a contributing factor. If you were struggling to sell your home before or after the crisis, here are a few things that might be causing the issue.

Is The Price Right For Selling Your Home?

The right real estate agent can make the selling price of your home a 5% positive gain. If you take a look at the sold data from previously sold homes near you, you’ll get a better idea of what a realistic price might be. Knowing the price point they have sold at can be helpful information. This will give you an idea of where your home is based on your fair listing price. Is your home listed with room for negation? Another thing to look at are there other homes near you for sale? This shouldn’t be viewed as a negative!

Your Home Isn’t Selling Now What?

Picking the right real estate agent for you can make all the difference in a good or bad experience. When it comes to selling your home, you are wanting them to understand your wants and needs! Have you listened to their opinion when it comes to listing price? Have you made the small changes they recommend? Listening to feedback from showing your home can also be helpful. Getting feedback from others who have been interested in your home, and knowing why they didn’t put in an offer can be helpful as well. Make sure you are being realistic given what the market, potential buyers and your real estate agent are telling you!

Was The Timing Right To Sell My Home?

Picking the perfect time to put your home on the market is also key! Selling your home in the wrong season can affect the way buyers view your home. During winter can they see the golf course that’s right in your backyard? Or is it covered in snow? Determining the selling price of your home can depend on it being winter or summer. Or if you have a ski-in ski-out home you’re probably more likely to get interested buyers and sell during the winter than the summer. Discuss with your real estate agent what the best time might be for you to put your home on the market!

Preparing Your Home For A Showing Can Help You Sell Your Home!

If buyers are not getting a good first impression of your home, it’s going to be very difficult to convince them to buy it! First step for this is to make sure your house is deep cleaned! You will want to declutter your home as well. This entails cleaning out those junk drawers and closets you just use for storage. You will want to show all of your space and have it be as open as possible. You will also want to make sure your personal belongings and pictures are taken down. This helps the buyer see the space and how they would like to create their new dream home.
