Because of COVID, there is a change in culture, and working remotely has become the preferred norm. Many people who have the opportunity to work remotely realize the pleasure of not having to slog to the office every day. Companies report that productivity has not suffered.
High-level executives and business owners who make the rules are wondering how they could work remotely more often in the future. What if the new normal allows them to spend 2-3 weeks at a time away from the office but still plugged-in? And this has some considering the options… Tech company Twitter just announced its workers can work remotely indefinitely – other companies are following suit…

The norm was to go to the office to work. The office is where the people were – co-workers. The office is where the computers and files and connection to the network were. An office requires a commute in traffic every day (twice). Because of COVID, everyone was forced to “work remotely”. Most Worked from Home. Many are now wondering: “If I don’t have to work at the office – and I can work Anywhere – Why not work from my home!” (A + B = C)
For Realtors, the home has been where we catch up on emails, text potential clients about new homes on the market. We have always been used to taking work home with us in a sense. This new way of working from home more than out in the field is challenging and we have had to adjust.
What does this mean for Realtors and how has this new way of life changed our careers? It has changed the way we show clients homes with being able to view a home virtually some are more comfortable with this approach right now. Some clients aren’t wanting us to host open houses due to having people walking around their homes and not knowing if they are sick or not. There have been times we haven’t been able to go and grab a cup of coffee and chat with clients about wish lists and what they want from a home. We have had to get creative and use what is available to us and change and adjust in a blink of an eye when restrictions came into place.

Has the use of Skype, Zoom, Facetime, Google Meetings shown you that you don’t have to physically be in the location of your current job?
