1. 100 years ago Fenno Ranch was known for having the best Hay, Potatoes and Lettuce in the country. This was the lettuce capital of the world.

2. Bearcat Stables is named after Ellis “Bearcat” Bearden. Bearcat was the nickname of the Bachelor Rancher stemming from his trists in local boxing matches in the 1930s.

3. Cordillera consists of 3 neighborhoods with distinct Architectural Styles.

  • The Divide with a focus on European Architecture and design
  • The Ranch, formerly a working ranch. Today’s leanings are Colorado Ranch Architecture and design.
  • The Summit with high Mountain Architecture and design with a splash of mountain contemporary among the most recent homes constructed.

4. Cordillera Free Skier Shuttle is back! Through March 29th every Friday, Saturday and Sunday Vail shuttle leaves at 8am and 9:30am and Beaver Creek Shuttles leave at 8:15 and 9:45. (Both shuttles return at 2:30 and 4) You must reserve a space by calling 970 724-7241.

5. The Club at Cordillera is managed by Troon Privé, Membership count reached 630 members in 2019 and memberships are still available. Membership initiation fees for full golf are $40,000 and Legacy memberships are $75,000. 6. The Nordic Center is now open Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 4pm located at the Cordillera Mountain Course Golf Shop next to the Timber Hearth restaurant. You can find 11 kilometers of trails as well as a sledding hill for kids to inner tube, sled or toboggan their way down the hill.

7. Cordillera has their own outdoor Ice Skating Rink located on the tennis courts at the Athletic Center in the Summit neighborhood of Cordillera. The ice rink has over 7,000 square feet of skating surface and is available for both free skaters and hockey skaters. Skates are available free of charge at the Athletic Center.

8. Cordillera is one of a few communities in the West owning a piece of private river heaven. Cordillera property owners have access to 1.3 miles along the Eagle River for year-round, world-class fishing. The river parcel also features viewing benches and walking paths.

Vail Valley Anglers (VVA) manages Cordillera’s Fishing Program with its industry endorsed guides. Education programs, discounts on guides, equipment and merchandise, and a variety of programs are offered.

To obtain a fishing pass for Cordillera waters, property owners are asked to print and sign the Rules & Regulations, then email them to Cordillera’s Operations Director Trevor Broersma for review. This process ensures Cordillera property owners have access to the waters. The orientation class is for property owners to learn safety, rules and regulations and proper fish-handling techniques. 9. Cordillera also grooms a track on the Short Course for Nordic skaters, snowshoers and dog walkers.
